Simo Hovi

Simo works as European Patent Attorney on the ICT & mechanics team at Laine IP. He has drafted patent and utility applications as well as managed the protection of inventions around the world. Simo’s area of expertise is in a wide range of equipment and processes from paper and concrete manufacture to laboratory technology. He also has experience in opposition and appeal processes in different countries, and in Finland he has worked as a technical assistant in court proceedings.

Simo’s long experience in the field of patents has brought him in touch with nearly all technical fields, excluding the core areas of chemistry and electronics.

Simo is a member of the industry associations FICPI, AIPPI, epi, SPAY and STY.

Simo holds a MSc (Engineering) degree in machine design.
